Cameras; a travelling collection

So this is it, the final cut.
Seven (including the digital I shot these with) still feels slightly excessive but I can't think of a single good reason not to take any of them. Well apart from the fact that by the time I pack them and my prescriptions I've pretty much eaten my whole 20kg baggage allowance. oh and the fact that those lovely little 110 films will cost 15quid to process. But in my defense I've never seen any in a bricks and mortar store before and I just couldn't resist.

That little one in the last image is a little HD handheld camera that's my new toy for the trip, and despite the fact that I'm probably quite talentless in the filming department, and have a fairly unsteady hand I'm going to try and make some little shorts.
I think I'm blaming it on Wes Anderson (fantastic mister fox) and this video but I really want to (eventually) have a go at stop frame. So I guess this handheld is kind of comparable to when I got my first polaroid when I was about 10- which yes I still have, even though it no longer works. And even if it did still work I saw some of that impossible project film last week and at 22 quid for 16 shots it really is the impossible project- the impossibly expensive project! I still think its admirable and pretty amazing what a few guys and a lot of passion can do, but I really hope that somehow the prices come down. You know that sinking feeling when a shot doesn't come out how you planned and you realise it cost you 1.20 and it was your last one!
Anyway I digress, a lot apparently.

Hopefully I'll be able to use the darkroom at HDK or find somewhere that will process at a decent price and I'll be able to share some images during my stay.

In other photo related tales I really can't wait to check out the Hasselblad foundation- the library sounds literally AMAZING. I'll have to go and see if Thom's images have made it into the archives yet!
